Addictions are psychologically and physically specific to each individual. Trying to treat all patients like they are the same person is like slamming a square peg into a round hole; it just doesn’t work. We firmly believe that empowering, specialized care for each individual is the cornerstone to overcoming addiction and dependence.
Step One: Pre-Screening
Rapid opiate detox under sedation begins with our inpatient custom pre-screening and pre-examination process. Our commitment to patient safety and individualized care is paramount. By beginning with careful pre-screening, we are safely able to assess higher risk patients with pre-existing conditions such as smokers, those with high blood pressure, obesity or cardiac issues, as well as IV users and long term or higher level opiate users. Other medical detoxification treatments are also available when the rapid detox method is not medically indicated. It is our mission to tailor care to the needs of the individual patient for their maximum safety and comfort.
The Waismann Method puts safety first every time. Our rapid detox treatment is performed as an in-patient procedure at an accredited, full-service hospital by our medical director, a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and pain management specialist boasting over [Years in business] years of experience in the field. The accredited hospital mitigates risk by putting all resources at our disposal should unexpected medical complications arise. For rapid opiate detox, we also use sedationas a safer alternative to using general anesthesia. Most patients are returned to consciousness after a brief 40 to 90 minutes of sedation, and have their own ICU room. Our supportive, knowledgeable staff, provides constant care and attention for a typical 2-3 day period or until patients become medically stable.
Everest wasn’t climbed in a day, and recovery from detoxification requires psychological as well as physical transition. After they leave the hospital, our patients enter the next phase of immediate care at the peaceful Domus Retreat. There they are meticulously monitored by staff while the body returns to normal function. When patients are immediately discharged after rapid detox to a hotel room, without the benefit of attentive supervision provided by professional staff, complications such as dehydration, changes in blood pressure or heart rate can arise and become dangerous or even fatal.
At the Domus Retreat, we offer extended stay where psychological treatment is rooted in the refusal to shame or degrade patients like many traditional rehab programs. Instead our staff works with each individual to identify the underlying problem behind the addiction and nurture positive growth in a new, healthy direction.
The Domus Retreat offers amenities including spacious private suites w/plasma TV’s, internet access, physical therapy such as massage, individual psychotherapy and counseling, activities like yoga, and gourmet meals. While extended stays are available, the average stay is a few days to a couple of weeks, as opposed to what can be months at other in-patient rehab facilities.
